As introduced: - Prohibits offering therapy or psychotherapy services, including through internet-based artificial intelligence, unless the services are conducted by a licensed professional. - Restricts a licensed professional's use of artificial intelligence by prohibiting it from making independent therapeutic decisions, directly interacting with clients, or generating unreviewed recommendations. - Requires written patient consent before using artificial intelligence for supplemental support if a therapeutic session is recorded or transcribed. - Establishes a civil penalty of up to $10,000 for each violation, to be assessed by the appropriate professional licensing board.
