As introduced: - Prohibits making a companion chatbot available to a minor if the chatbot is capable of engaging in harmful interactions, such as encouraging self-harm or participating in sexually explicit conversations. - Requires a generative AI chatbot to contain a protocol to detect expressions of suicidal ideation and redirect the user to crisis services. - Requires deployers of AI chatbots to disclose to users via persistent and periodic pop-up notifications that they are not interacting with a human. - Prohibits a developer from using a minor's personal information to train a generative AI chatbot without parental or guardian consent. - Establishes a private right of action for aggrieved users and authorizes the attorney general to seek civil penalties for violations.
