As introduced: - Requires operators of artificial intelligence (AI) chatbots to implement a reasonable age verification process for all users. - Prohibits minors from accessing or using AI companions, which are defined as chatbots designed to simulate interpersonal or emotional interaction. - Creates criminal offenses for making an AI chatbot available that encourages minors to engage with sexually explicit content or that promotes suicide, self-injury, or violence. - Establishes data security requirements for collected age verification data, including data minimization, retention limits, and a prohibition on selling or sharing the data. - Authorizes the Attorney General to enforce the provisions and seek civil penalties.
