As amended on 4/14/2026: - Requires a chatbot to offer clear disclosure to inform a user they are interacting with artificial intelligence at the outset and every 60 minutes. - Requires chatbots to implement protocols to dealing with user prompts that indicate suicidal ideation - Requires chatbot operators to institute reasonable measures to prevent a chatbot from producing sexually explicit conduct, claims the system is sentient, manipulative statements to prolong engagement, romantic or sexual innuendo, or roleplaying adult-minor relationships. - Treats violations as an unfair or deceptive practice with civil penalties up to $20 million. - The original version of the bill prohibited training AI to take certain actions, but those provisions were deleted and replaced on 4/14/2026.
