As prefiled: - Enacts the "Artificial Intelligence Data Center Environmental Accountability Act," which applies to new or significantly expanded AI-optimized data centers with a load capacity of 100 MW or greater. - Requires covered data centers to implement a closed-loop water cooling system, or an alternative system approved by the Department of Natural Resources. - Requires operators to submit a detailed annual environmental and health report to the Dept. of Natural Resources, which the department must make publicly available. - Establishes daily $50,000 civil fines for violations and authorizes the department to suspend or revoke operational permits for willful noncompliance.
