As introduced: - Expands the definition of "computer science course" to include cybersecurity, social media training, and artificial intelligence in addition to existing algorithmic processes content. - Requires the existing workgroup to develop additional academic performance standards for computer science courses that incorporate cybersecurity, social media training, and artificial intelligence, to be adopted by the state board of education and implemented beginning in the 2027-28 school year. - Requires all high school graduates beginning in the 2027-28 school year to complete one-half unit of credit in computer science before graduation, and requires completion of this one-half unit before students may substitute a computer science course for any mathematics, science, or practical arts requirement.
