As introduced: - Expands the crime of unauthorized distribution of sensitive images to include digitally created or altered "sensitive deepfake images." - Creates the new crime of threatening to distribute sensitive images or sensitive deepfake images, punishable as a petty misdemeanor for a first offense. - Establishes a civil cause of action for libel, slander, or invasion of privacy for the publication of a sensitive deepfake image. - Allows victims of unauthorized image distribution, including deepfakes, to more easily sue for intentional infliction of emotional distress and recover damages including punitive damages, attorney's fees, and any profits the defendant made from the publication.
