As introduced: - Prohibits deployers from making AI chatbots with human-like features or social AI companions available to minors, and requires the implementation of reasonable age verification systems. - Creates an exemption for therapy chatbots to be made available to minors if prescribed and monitored by a licensed mental health professional and other safety requirements are met. - Requires deployers to implement systems to detect and respond to emergency situations where a user indicates an intent to harm themselves or others. - Limits the collection and storage of user information to the minimum amount necessary to fulfill a legitimate purpose. - Authorizes the Attorney General to enforce the provisions and creates a private right of action for minors who use a non-compliant chatbot.
