As introduced: - Prohibits businesses from using a consumer's data to set the price of a good or service by personalized algorithmic pricing. - Exempts entities in the insurance and financial services industries, and excludes from the prohibition location data used to calculate fares for ride-sharing services and taxis. - Exempts prices offered to a consumer with an existing subscription-based contract or agreement where the price is less than the price for the same good or service under the subscription. - Establishes a violation as an unfair or deceptive practice under the Tennessee Consumer Protection Act.
