As enrolled: - Requires operators of artificial intelligence companions to disclose to users that they are interacting with AI and not a human, if a reasonable person would believe the interaction was with a human. - Requires protocols for detecting suicidal ideation of self-harm. - Imposes protections for users believed to be minors, including prohibiting the chatbot from claiming the companion is sentient or a human, simulating emotional dependence or romantic interest, roleplaying romantic relationships between adults or minors - For minors, requires a reminder every hour of interaction that the user should take a break and is interacting with a chatbot, and reasonable measures to prevent sexual conduct. - Requires an operator to take reasonable measures to prevent offering a minor a reward system to maximize time on the platform, attempts to guilt the user into prolonged engageent, or material misrepresentations on identity, capabilities, or training data. - Creates a private right of action.
