As introduced: - Prohibits food delivery platforms from using algorithmic systems that penalize workers for failing to meet delivery time estimates that do not account for conditions beyond the worker's control, such as traffic, weather, and restaurant delays. - Prohibits platforms from incentivizing unsafe driving or reducing a worker's pay or access to work for refusing to engage in unsafe or unlawful conduct. - Requires platforms to provide workers with written notice of how their algorithms assign work, evaluate performance, and determine compensation. - Grants workers the right to a written explanation for any suspension or deactivation and prohibits retaliation against workers for exercising their rights under the act.
