As introduced: - Creates a research exemption for AI-assisted therapy that is provided within a qualified research program conducted by an academic medical center and overseen by a licensed professional. - Establishes requirements for qualified research programs, including that they receive Institutional Review Board (IRB) approval, obtain participant informed consent, and use AI only as an adjunct to a human professional. - Requires the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation to maintain a public registry of these programs and establishes penalties for violations, including loss of exemption status and civil penalties.
