As introduced: - Requires a companion chatbot that detects a credible crisis expression to provide support resources, and to initiate a 20-minute crisis interruption pause if the user reaffirms, escalates, or makes a subsequent credible crisis expression. - Defines a "credible crisis expression" as a user statement indicating intent to harm oneself or others, based on contextual analysis rather than only keyword detection. - Prohibits a companion chatbot from diagnosing a user's risk level or describing the crisis interruption pause as a punishment. - Requires operators of companion chatbots to document crisis expressions and pauses and to annually report this information to the Office of Suicide Prevention.
