As introduced: - Requires companion chatbot operators to provide a disclaimer to users under 18 that the interaction is not with a human at the outset of an interaction and every three hours, or when prompted. - Prohibits offering rewards that encourage engagement or producing sexually explicit content or simulating emotional dependence for minor users. - Requires offering tools for users and parents to control privacy settings. - Requires the implementation of a protocol to respond to user prompts about self-harm by referring the user to a crisis service provider. Prohibits implying that output is provided by a licensed professional. - Makes a violation of the act a deceptive trade practice subject to a civil penalty of $1,000 per violation.
