As amended on 4/16/2026: - Prohibits a deployer from knowingly making a social AI companion available to a minor and requires implementing reasonable measures to prevent minors from accessing the chatbot. - Requires deployers to employ a protocol for a social AI companion to respond to a user with suicidal ideation or threats of self-harm. Provides a violation is subject to an injunction and disgorgement of profits with civil penalties. - The original version included provisions relating to therapy chatbots that were deleted in the 3/25/2026 amendment.
