As enacted: - Creates the offense of “coercive suicide,” which applies when a person intentionally encourages or advises another person to commit suicide with the purpose of persuading, inciting, or aiding the suicide or attempted suicide in the near term, while knowing the person has expressed suicidal intent. - The 3/9/2026 amendment removes a provision creating criminal liability to the owner of an artificial intelligence system if the system advises or encourages a person to commit suicide.
