As amended 4/9/2026: - Prohibits an employer from using a worker’s personal information to train an artificial intelligence system to replicate, automate, or replace a worker’s job. - Prohibits an employer or vendor from selling, disclosing, or otherwise providing access to worker personal information to a third party for such a purpose. - Requires a contract between an employer and vendor to include a requirement that the vendor implement and maintain reasonable security procedures to protect the worker’s personal information from, among other things, unauthorized or illegal access. - Requires the Labor Commissioner and authorizes a public prosecutor to enforce these provisions. - Permits a private right of action for violations.
