As introduced: - Requires covered providers of large generative AI systems to offer a free public tool for detecting AI-generated content. - Requires covered providers to embed latent identifying data in AI-generated content and to offer users the option to include a visible disclosure. - Requires large online platforms to detect and disclose information about AI-generated content to users and prohibits the removal of such data. - Prohibits hosting platforms from knowingly making available a generative AI system that does not comply with the bill's disclosure requirements. - Authorizes the Attorney General to investigate complaints and impose civil penalties of up to $5,000 per violation and clarifies that the act does not create a private right of action.
