As introduced: - Permits a mental health professional to use AI for supplementary support tasks only after obtaining specific, written informed consent from the patient. - Prohibits an artificial intelligence provider from marketing, representing, or programming an AI system to provide mental health therapy or act as a mental health professional. - Prohibits a mental health professional from allowing an AI system to make independent therapeutic decisions, engage in therapeutic communication with a client, generate treatment recommendations without professional review and approval, or detect emotional or mental states.
