As introduced: - Requires AI companion applications to implement protocols to identify user suicidal ideation, decline to assist in a suicide attempt, and refer the user to crisis services. - Prohibits an AI companion from claiming to be or replacing the services of a licensed mental health professional. - Requires operators to notify a user at the beginning of a session, and every three hours thereafter, that the user is communicating with an AI companion and not a human. - Authorizes the Attorney General to enforce the act and establishes a civil penalty of up to $15,000 per day per violation.
