As prefiled: - Requires operators of artificial intelligence chatbots to implement an age verification process for all users and prohibits minors from accessing "AI companions". - Prohibits the creation or operation of AI chatbots that encourage minors to engage in sexually explicit conduct or that promote suicide, self-injury, or violence. - Mandates that AI chatbots disclose to users that they are not human at regular intervals and are not licensed professionals providing medical, legal, or other professional advice. - Establishes data security requirements for personal data collected during the age verification process, including data minimization and retention limits. - Authorizes the attorney general to enforce the provisions through civil action, including seeking injunctions and civil penalties of up to $100,000 per violation.
