As introduced: - Prohibits health carriers from imposing time limits on payment for anesthesia services or restricting the calculation of total billable anesthesia time. - Prohibits health carriers from using automated systems, including artificial intelligence, to downcode a claim. - Requires that any downcoding decision be made by a physician licensed in the state who shares the same specialty as the treating physician after a review of clinical information. - Establishes notification requirements and a process for physicians to appeal downcoded claims.
