As introduced: - Requires licensed mental health professionals and licensed health care providers to obtain written informed consent from a patient before using artificial intelligence to assist in providing supplementary support. - Prohibits artificial intelligence from being used to make independent therapeutic or medical decisions, directly interact with patients, diagnose conditions, detect emotions or states, or generate treatment plans without review by a licensed provider. - Prohibits an entity from offering therapy or psychotherapy services through internet-based artificial intelligence unless a licensed mental health professional conducts the services. - Authorizes professional licensure boards and the Attorney General to impose administrative fines of up to $10,000 per violation for breaches of these provisions.
