As introduced: - Prohibits an artificial intelligence tool from being used to deny, delay, or modify health care services, and requires that determinations of medical necessity be made only by a licensed health care professional. - Requires insurers and utilization review organizations using artificial intelligence to base determinations on an enrollee’s individual clinical information rather than group datasets and not to supplant a health care provider's decision-making. - Requires a health benefit plan to notify enrollees on its website about the use of artificial intelligence in utilization review and establishes penalties for violations, including fines and license suspension.
