As introduced: - Requires healthcare providers using AI that materially contributes to a diagnosis or treatment plan to disclose its use in the medical record and obtain review and approval from a licensed clinician. - Prohibits health insurance payers from issuing an automated denial or delay of coverage or payment for medical services. - Requires any adverse determination by a payer for medical services to be reviewed and signed by a physician holding a license in the United States in the same or a similar specialty. - Requires payers to file an annual report with the Department of Insurance describing any clinical AI used for utilization management or risk adjustment. - Makes a violation of the act grounds for disciplinary action against a licensed clinician or an unfair practice for a payer, enforceable by state licensing boards and the Department of Insurance.
