As introduced: - Grants students and parents the right to opt out of certain educational technologies, including school-issued electronic devices and online assignments, and to request human review of any AI-generated grades. - Prohibits school districts from purchasing, acquiring, or using biometric information systems on students and requires the destruction of any existing student biometric data. - Prohibits educational technology operators from using artificial intelligence to train on student information, unless for specified school purposes or to improve the operator's service. - Requires an operator to obtain written consent from a student or parent before its artificial intelligence model may retain the student's information as training data indefinitely.
