As introduced: - Establishes the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) Transit Police Department, composed of sworn law enforcement officers who will exclusively perform all security functions, and requires the department to deploy 3-officer safety teams who will move continously through trains, buses, and stations. - Requires the CTA to implement a pilot program deploying AI-based weapon-detection scanners in 5 to 10 high-crime stations and major bus hubs. - Requires the CTA to implement a limited facial recognition pilot program to identify individuals with active violent-felony warrants or those prohibited from using CTA services.
