As amended 4/9/2026: - Authorizes the State Administrator of Elections to disseminate correct information, seek injunctions for the removal of election misinformation or disinformation, and issue subpoenas for related records. - Allows the State Board of Elections to file a civil action and seek damages against an entity that publishes election misinformation or disinformation. - Prohibits the knowing or reckless dissemination of a materially false deepfake with the intent to influence an election or voter. - Clarifies that computer services, internet service providers, or telecommunication networks may not be found in violation of the deepfake prohibition solely because another person uses the services or facilities to disseminate a deepfake. - Establishes that a violation of the deepfake prohibition is a misdemeanor punishable by up to a $5,000 fine and/or 5 years imprisonment.
