As introduced: - Requires covered online platforms to disclose information about their algorithmic recommender systems, including the inputs and weights used to rank content. - Requires algorithmic recommender systems that use personal data to be configured by default to maximize long-term user value. Requires a platform to maximize one or more long-term user value metrics applicable to minors. - Requires covered online platforms to conduct and publicly disclose annual long-term assessments of algorithmic changes and to obtain an independent audit of these assessments. - Makes a violation of the act an unlawful practice under the Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices Act.
