As amended 5/4/2026: - Requires retailers to post warning signs of the tracking of customers through cell phones or other electronic devices. - Requires retailers that collect, retain, convert, store, or share biometric identifier information of customers to post a conspicuous warning sign at each entrance notifying customers of the collection. - Requires the notice to provide information for customers who wish to opt out of the collection of biometric information. - Excludes cameras and other technology solely intended for video surveillance to ensure the security of a store. - The 3/17/2026 amendment requires the warning sign to be written in plain language. Allows warning signs to be posted together as one warning sign. - The 5/4/2026 amendment deletes the ban on selling biometric information.
