As passed the Senate 6/11/2026: - Requires students, beginning July 1, 2029, to complete one unit of computer science to graduate. - Requires the computer science unit to include instruction in evolving areas, such as artificial intelligence. - Requires each public high school, community school, STEM school, and college-prep boarding school to offer at least one computer science course beginning with the 2028-2029 school year. - Authorizes public schools to partner with community colleges to provide computer science instruction to their students. - Requires the Dept. of Education and Workforce to publish an annual report on computer science course offerings and student participation data.
