As introduced: - Requires social media platforms to register with the Secretary of State. - Requires a platform to exercise reasonable care to a minor and not use design features that are harmful, configure default privacy settings to a high level of privacy, use reasonable care to protect data, and limits use of data. - For minor accounts, prohibits allowing contact from unknown adults, discriminating against protected classes, using dark patterns, and using data for targeted advertising. - Requires registration of artificial intelligence systems. - Requires an AI system to use reasonable care to protect against risks, disclose when a consumer is interacting with an AI system, obtain informed consent before collecting, using, or sharing a consumer's data, and use reasonable care to protect data.
