As introduced: - Prohibits a person from using surveillance data and an automated system to set a customized price for a good or service. - Excludes discounts where eligibility for the discount or reward is based on information that a consumer provides affirmatively and voluntarily. - Prohibits an employer from using surveillance data and an automated system to set a customized wage for an employee, with limited exceptions. - Classifies a violation of the price-setting prohibition as an unfair, abusive, or deceptive trade practice subject to the Maryland Consumer Protection Act. - Authorizes the Commissioner of Labor and Industry to investigate violations of the wage-setting prohibition and the Attorney General to seek relief.
