As introduced: - Prohibits offering, providing, or advertising mental health services delivered by an artificial intelligence system, and establishes a $10,000 civil penalty per violation. - Prohibits licensed mental health professionals from using artificial intelligence for therapeutic functions, including making therapeutic decisions, generating treatment plans, or interpreting emotions. - Permits mental health professionals to use artificial intelligence for specified administrative support tasks, provided the professional reviews and assumes responsibility for the AI's output and obtains patient consent for transcription or recording. - Classifies the misuse of artificial intelligence by a mental health professional as unprofessional conduct.
