As introduced: - Prohibits the use of artificial intelligence to provide therapeutic judgment, diagnosis, treatment, or to directly interact with clients as part of mental health services. - Permits a mental health professional to use artificial intelligence for administrative, operational, and documentation support, provided the professional retains clinical responsibility. - Requires explicit patient consent before using artificial intelligence to record, transcribe, or process identifiable therapeutic communications. - Defines the misuse of artificial intelligence by a mental health professional as unprofessional conduct.
