As introduced: - Requires health insurers to disclose to the Office of the Health Insurance Commissioner (OHIC) and the Department of Business Regulation (DBR) their use of artificial intelligence for managing claims and coverage. - Mandates that a licensed healthcare provider review and approve any adverse benefit determination regarding medically necessary care when an AI system was a substantial factor in the decision. - Requires insurers to maintain documentation of artificial intelligence decisions for at least five years. - Requires insurers to bear the total cost of complying with these provisions.
