As introduced: - Prohibits any person, entity, or artificial intelligence system from providing therapy or psychotherapy services unless conducted by a licensed professional. Prohibits an AI system from being used to make independent therapeutic decisions, engage in therapeutic communication with a client, generate treatment plans without professional review, or detect a client's emotions or mental states. - Permits licensed professionals to use AI for administrative or supplementary support roles, provided they maintain full responsibility and obtain patient consent for uses involving session recordings or transcriptions. Requires informed consent from the patient.
