Requires reasonable parental control functions and the opportunity to link a parental account and access chat logs. - Prohibits processing a chat log for targeted advertising for a minor. - Prohibits features that prioritize engagement, revenue, or retention metrics, and encourage a minor to conceal use from a parent. - Requires processes to identify and reduce emotional dependence from a user, ensure chatbots do not represent it is human, identify and manage when a user is expressing suicidal thoughts, self-harm, or a mental health crisis. Prohibits representing the chatbots is a licensed legal or medical professional, certified public accountant, licensed investment advisory of fidicuiary. - Prohibits representing that a chat log or personal data is confidential. Prohibits selling a user's chat log or retaining the chat log for more than ten years. - Requires a chatbot to notify emergency services or law enforcement within 24 hours of obtaining knowledge a user faces imminent risk of death or serious injury. - Grants enforcement authority with the attorney general. - The 5/6/2026 amendment rewrote the chatbot bill.
