As introduced: - Requires a deployer to notify a consumer before an artificial intelligence system is used to make or inform a consequential decision relating to education enrollment, employment or employment opportunities, financial or lending services, housing, health care services, insurance, or legal services. - Mandates that if an AI system contributes to an adverse consequential decision, the consumer must be provided with an explanation, an opportunity to correct personal data, and the right to a human-reviewed appeal. - Requires a "companion product" to disclose that it is an artificial intelligence system at the beginning of each user interaction and prohibits it from misrepresenting itself as a human. - Classifies a violation of the act as an unfair or deceptive trade practice and authorizes consumers to bring a civil action for injunctive or declaratory relief.
